A New Born Baby Shoot: Introducing Mimi

It’s a very special thing to photograph a new baby and to capture that intense and magical time of being a parent for the first time but particularly when it’s one of your dearest friends in the world. The very clever Katy Orme, well known for her gorgeous blog Apartment Apothecary, along with her fantastic partner Jules, has gone and made a beautiful baby girl: the marvellous Mimi. I wandered along to their Bermondsey flat to take a few film shots of this little wonder (and brought my two along for the ride). They have an apartment us lay folk can only dream of; bright, brain-purringly organised (considering the dog-bear Otto they share it with) and filled with beautiful things, put together impeccably. Every time I visit I sigh (and try to steal things), but that morning Mimi was the loveliest little thing to behold and has been upstaging everyone ever after (much to poor Otto’s resigned chagrin). Here are a few from the morning we spent together (with a couple of photo bombs from Baby G thrown in); welcome to the world Mimi Ada, what an adventure you have ahead of you xxx

The information and the aspect were just wonderful. I think that your viewpoint is deep, it’s just well thought out and truly incredible to see someone who knows how to put these thoughts so well. Good job and keep it up.

My heart has just burst looking at these beautiful shots - that time was such a blurry haze so these photos are so precious to help remember my babe when she was teeny tiny. We were such a tired mess so I have absolutely no idea how you have managed to capture us so well - you are a genius xxx
