A Richmond pub wedding: Ailsa & James

In the summer (yes, summer, remember that?) I photographed Ailsa & James on a little wander along the Thames in Richmond. You can see a few shots here if you like. Well, October saw them tying the knot - and oh, what a night! The day had two distinct flavours - the first took place at the splendid Orleans House Gallery; they tied the knot in the impressive Baroque Octagon room and close friends and family spilled out into the crisp autumn sunshine to sup a little fizz in the lovely woodland grounds. Delightful. All very civilised indeed. For the second chapter we headed back across the river to their favourite pub, The White Horse, for something a little (I really mean a lot) more lively. Immediately, the party began and the little place was thronging with laughter and celebration and real excitement for these two people. And when it came to the dancing, boy were this lot ready! A succession of friends took control of the decks and the dancing and dazzling went on into those wee hours. It was such a good party I ended up staying late and burning through my entire stash of Ilford Delta 3200! ?Ailsa & James are seriously loved and it was pretty magical to be amongst their crowds of fans. Congratulations you two, you were marvellous!

I love this wedding. The portraits in the woods are lovely, such gorgeous autumn colours but the evening black and whites are my favourite - love that grain!
