A stylish country wedding: Gilly & Tom

Discovering tiny places, deep in the heart of the beautiful British countryside, is certainly one of my favourite parts of photographing weddings, and tripping down to the pretty village of Shere, near Guildford, was an absolute delight. It’s the quintessential English village; nestling in the hills of the North downs and complete with it’s own blacksmith, proper pub and imposing Norman church, this is where the gorgeous Gilly and the dashing Tom, tied the knot. These two really are rather special; now, I go to a lot of weddings and photograph lots of people in love, but these two barely spent a moment apart for the entire day; they have an ease and grace with each other that was beautiful to watch and a pleasure to photograph. The party took place at Gilly’s family home and, despite the rain, then the sun, then the rain, it was the perfect garden party wedding with bagpipes, hay bales, aperol spritz and lots of dancing. Here’s a little of how it all looked.
